January's Six
The aim of this series is to corral some favorite things and share them in a short and sweet post. Whether it’s a song, book, recipe, tip, or product, hopefully you will find some inspiration in this list.
1. If you like oil cleansing, then you have to try Kiwi Botanicals manuka honey melt facial cleanser. It is so gentle and nourishing, smells great, and is super effective at removing stubborn eye makeup. And given the high quality ingredient list, it’s a steal at only $10 (here).
2. I somehow stumbled across this recipe for cinnamon buns several years ago and have made them with some regularity since. I just recently made them for Christmas morning and was reminded of how easy and delicious they are. Now that my husband and I are starting to establish our own family holiday traditions, I have decided these will be a Christmas morning staple for years to come. Although, you don’t need to wait until the 2020 holidays to try your hand at these as they would be a good way to upgrade any weekend breakfast. Check out the recipe!
3. My husband received JBC’s Kebele Village Ethiopia coffee for Christmas, and wow, was it good. If you’re a coffee-lover, you will not be disappointed. And if waking up early is a 2020 resolution, then I promise these beans will help motivate you. Find them here.
4. On the subject of holiday gifts, if you still need to write your thank yous, check out this beautiful set of notecards. Since they’re blank, they are also multi-purpose.
5. Our dad read Say Nothing by Patrick Radden Keefe in one day. If that isn’t a sign of a good book, I don’t know what is. If you need to be further persuaded, the NYT Book Review selected it as one of the best books of 2019. Find the book here and the NYT review here. I can’t wait to read it.
6. Australian band RUFUS has a knack for churning out the catchiest, most addictive songs. When I need to get in the zone with writing, I love listening to “Innerbloom,” “Hypnotized,” and “Daylight,” to name a few (listen here, here, and here).
