Between the Lines - The Rosie Project
September’s Pick - Graeme Simsion, The Rosie Project
Thoughts
The Rosie Project is a quirky comedy about a socially and emotionally challenged genetics professor, named Don, who although he has never gone on a second date, decides he must solve his "wife problem" and find a suitable partner. To that end, he scientifically designs a 16 page questionnaire entitled the "Wife Project" which he intends to link to his online dating profile. Enter Rosie - a witty, independent bartender, (and most decidedly not a suitable partner) who distracts him with a project of her own. Readers will be delighted by the plot twists, and you'll end up agreeing with Don who says, "Humans often fail to see what is close to them and obvious to others." Immensely humorous and heartwarming and hard to put down. I know, I read half the book in one standing!
Overall
Recommend - a fun, laugh-out-loud rom-com of a book
P.S. The movie is coming to theaters May, 2019.
