Three Easy Ways to Fundraise

Fundraising for a good cause can be challenging. You have to come up with an idea, plan, and execute, but sometimes it is just too much work. Throughout my experience with my club, Voices for Animals, I’ve learned which fundraisers are the most successful yet manageable. Below, I’ve compiled the top three ways to raise money that leaves all the stress behind.

Hosting fundraisers at restaurants

There are many restaurants that are willing to help you raise money, and it is so effortless. Chains like Blaze Pizza and Chipotle have online forms that you fill out with the charity information and date of intended fundraiser, and then you quickly receive an email with flyers to pass out to friends and family. Remind them to show the flyer at the counter, and in one meal, your charity can raise a large amount of money.

Tip: Post flyer on social media to advertise even more!

Personal Experience: VFA has made anywhere from $50-$100 from this fundraiser!

Bake Sales

This method is very common and almost always successful! You can divide the baking amongst the members of the organization to not put all the work on one person. If some would rather buy baked goods for a good price from the market, this can be very helpful too. If you are a student like me, selling at school will always be a great option. If not, you can always ask stores if you can host bake sales around the entrance, or even on the sidewalks in your neighborhood.

Tip: Sell for very affordable prices. Expensive baked goods will drive people away.

Personal Experience: VFA has hosted bake sales at parks during AYSO season, and at my high school and accumulated over $100 from each fundraiser!

Selling Gear

Customink is a company that customizes anything from a shirt to a water bottle, and this is a way to raise the largest amount of money of the three fundraisers I’ve discussed. You can call an employee and they can help you create gear that people will want to buy. Then, you can print a picture of your gear and sell for a profitable price.

Tip: I recommend pre-ordering the gear so you have an idea of the quantity to order.

Personal Experience: This is VFA’s biggest way to fundraise, and we’ve created short sleeves, long sleeves, and water bottles. We’ve made anywhere from $100 -$400 through Customink!
